Guru Teg Bahadur International School is one of the leading providers of education in the Northern Territory. We aim to give every student in
our care the very best possible education in order to prepare them for life beyond school.
We are a Learning Community which encourage staff, students, past students and parents to involve themselves fully in all aspects of school life and to identify themselves with its core values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Cooperation and Achievement. Our school is large enough to provide a broad and differentiated curriculum that caters to varied interests and abilities.
Guru Teg Bahadur International School has a very strong and supportive School System that ensures that
the school continues to excel in everything we do. Additionally, The school tops at Rank one in the district
and 10th out of thirteen top schools in the state. We always lay emphasis on classroom teaching.
We discourage tuitions. Teachers are always ready to sort out the academic problems of the students
inside and outside the classroom. I feel proud to announce that in all I.C.S.E exams our results have
been 100%. The credit goes to school management, staff, parents and students.
In order to keep the teachers aware of the latest techniques in learning, teaching and evaluation they are sent to teaching workshops organized by the ICSE.. Apart from this, the school organizes different workshops in which the experts take part and share their expertise with our teachers. Every year we are organising Special Training Sessions for teachers in Communication Skills and Teaching Strategies to make teaching effective.
No wonder that our students have performed beyond our expectations in the ICSE. In extracurricular activities our students do not lag behind. They are sent to participate in different competitions organized by different schools and social organizations. It is heartening to declare that the performance of our students in such competitions is quite satisfactory. It is quite heartening to note that in many of these competitions our students do us proud by winning prizes. It is trite but true that a healthy body keeps a healthy mind. In order to keep our children healthy, P.T. exercises are performed daily after the prayer. We also conduct inter house tournaments in football, volleyball, Kho Kho, athletics and badminton. A spirit of healthy competition is kept alive through these competitions. Students also participate in different tournaments organized by ICSE. This year our students Anmol Singh stood first in javelin throw, Jobanpreet Singh stood first in 800 meter race ,Loveleen Kaur second in javelin throw, Satnam Singh third in 1500 meter race. Babaldeep Singh ranked third in shot put at district level Competition and Anmol Singh was placed at fourth position at the State level. Kiratpal Kaur received second prize in inter district declamation contest
No individual can ever hope to achieve something worthwhile without imbibing discipline. We therefore, lay special stress on this aspect. We do not compromise with indiscipline in any way. Students are strictly watched not only by the teachers but also by the CCTV cameras. These cameras have been installed at the strategic points as well as in all classrooms in the school campus. The fear of being caught keeps the students away from mischief.
Our educational program is wide and varied and our record of success in the Northern Territory is outstanding. Students find they can pursue their interests and strengths to the best of their ability, and are encouraged to achieve their personal best. We are proud of our record and of our success in helping students achieve their dreams once they leave school.
At the same time, our vision of education extends far beyond the classroom. We encourage our students to involve themselves in the broad co-curricular program. Learning here takes place in many shapes and forms. Students have the opportunity to participate fully on the sporting field, on the stage, in leadership activities, Vocational Education and Training courses and on the Debating platform.
We expect high standards in all that we do at Guru Teg Bahadur International School. We encourage our students to aim high in their studies, to work hard and to be sensitive to the rights and needs of others.
